Cameroon: Eric Jacquemin, Ambassador of Belgium in Yaoundé Belgians at the end of the world Portrait of Lubiana
Lubiana comes from a family of musicians. Born in Belgium, from a Cameroonian father and a Belgian mother, she began studying piano, guitar, saxophone and music theory at the age of 8.
Introduced by her family to different forms of art, it is in singing that Lubiana flourishes the most.

She then enrolled at the conservatory of Louvain and traveled all over the planet. Lubiana is passionate about the kora, a magnificent string instrument from Mali. Initiated following an apprenticeship in this African harp played mainly by men, she is one of the few women to practice it. Legend has it that it would be the favorite instrument of a woman genius who lived in the caves of Missirikoro in Mali, she was dispossessed of it by a warlord to be passed on to griots from father to son... Fortunately, Lubiana is there to break this circle of exclusively male transmission.
