Camera: Aqara G3 can be physically disabled from the Home App |igeneration
Automation
22 commentairesNicolas Furno | Aqara's G3H camera has received an update that adds an important feature: it will now deactivate physically if you cut it from the home app.This motorized camera can indeed move its lens under its cap, thus blocking any possibility of accessing the image.It's not just a software deactivation, it is a hardware block.
This possibility was previously reserved for the Aqara App, the Apple House app could only activate the software cut.The update corrects this and the material blocking is now done regardless of the app used.
As a reminder, the G3 camera is both a domestic camera compatible with the Homekit secure video, a zigbee hub for other accessories in the AQARA ecosystem, a HomeKit compatible alarm system and even an infrared transmitter.Everything is sold for € 120.

Can it be updated to Thread or Matter?

@Fredmac92

EUFY cameras have also been doing it for quite some time and it's very practical (especially for the forty euros that the product costs).

I see nothing like the Eufy at 40 €?!Can you tell me more ?Thanks

@Kiwan
I found it in my Amazon purchasing history, but it is strangely indicated as more available.

@l3ARONSANSGLAND
€ 49.99 is "fifty euros" and not "forty".40 € is the price of the non -motorized version, the EUFY 2K Indoor Cam.
Psychological prices still have a bright future ahead of them.

@flux_capacitor
I am not at near € 9 🤗

I have this EUFY camera and I don't see anything about the behavior you mention.Neither in house nor in the EUFY app.Can you tell us more about it?Merciédit: maybe it reserved for Homekit Secure Video?That I do not use.

@Stéf06
I also have it and she does it well.You rules it just so that she does not film when someone arrives at home and the lens then pivots.

@l3ARONSANSGLAND
You give the German link but it is well available in France :)
l3aronsansgland |
@Shaba
Yes, because it is where I bought it.

And it will take another camera that films it to control that the eyes are well closed? 😔

Les Eufy le font aussi automatiquement quand on les éteint avec l'appli Eufy, j'en ai 2 que j'ai payé 34,99€ chacune sura Amazon.They have already been 39.99 € recently, just wait for a reduction voucher that will appear.

@anonx
With the manufacturer's app, is there nothing exceptional but with the home app?
shaba |
@nicolasf
With house too, you just have to use automation "do not film when someone is at home".I guess is that how the Aqara works too?
Nicolas Furno |
@Shaba
No need for automation no, just define the parameters when you are present or absent.But perfect, then.🙂
shaba |
@nicolasf
Well, it remains an automation triggered by the presence or absence of people ^^
Nicolas Furno |
@Shaba
Yes, but as Homekit has the concept of automation, I did not want to complicate things.
shaba |
@nicolasf
OK :) In any case they have been doing it since the launch of the product.

@nicolasf
It's cool to see what competition does but the price difference is crazy I find.Almost 4 EUFY for the price of a 😬😗

@anonx

With me it mechanically cuts the camera well but when it "wakes up" it does not resume its initial position ... Someone has the same problem and found the solution?
