Netatmo and Vélux launch a simpler and cheaper homekit kit |igeneration
Automation
17 commentairesNicolas Furno | Vélux joined forces with Netatmo in 2018 to connect its roof windows.Thanks to the addition of a kit created by Netatmo, motorized velux can be controlled remotely from an app also supplied by the French home automation specialist, but also from the house app since this system is compatible Homekit.The two companies now offer a new simplified and cheaper kit, but which brings the majority of the profits of this solution.
However, this defect is easy to counterbalance in a homekit universe.If you have a sensor of another brand, like the Eve Weather recently spent in Thread, you can use it as part of an automation created in the Home app.You will be able to reproduce the automated management provided by Netatmo with the complete kit, but by buying only this new simplified version.And if that is not enough for you, it will be possible to buy the velux sensors separately, to switch from the basic kit to the complete kit in a second step.
Count 119 € for the Velux App Control kit, knowing that it will also need at least one roof window with engine.If you are equipped with integra Velux windows produced after 2007, you don't need anything more;Otherwise, product rotation models since 2000 can be equipped with an additional engine powered by solar energy.Then count around 350 € per window, not to mention the possible price of the installation.You can also use this tool to check the precise compatibility of your windows.
The Netatmo store also offers an additional sensor for 100 €, which will tip over the entire basic kit.But it is then more interesting to buy the complete kit from the start, billed € 250.

Interesting this news, if one day they have the idea of developing this for roller shutters, because my Delta Dore system cannot integrate into Apple

I have the impression that it is compatible with all their Professor Io Home Control so the roller shutters

@Arnaud33
At Somfi, they don't already have that?

Does it work with the Legrand application, right? Since it is Netatmo too?

@Link1993
I do not believe, in any case it is not systematic it seems to me.

@nicolasf
Well, well the simplification of all this, with the use of fewer applications to install, it is not for immediately ...

On my 6 roller shutters, I just changed the wired switch (X model) by a Legrand by Netatmo switch model.It is of course necessary to add a bridge to an existing socket.Everything works perfectly with the Home or Home+application.

This is what I had been asking them for months !!I knew that the bridge was working without the sensors!Besides, that's how I use it at home ...

Is it profitable if I only have 1 velux after 2007?I still find a little expensive or if you know bidouilles 😝

I pilot the solar roller shutters of my velux and it works very well. The velux application allows more adjustment than house and we can create scenarios. There is even a temperature and humidity sensor integrated into the kit that appears inHouse unlike the information from the Netatmo weather station. Very practical to close the shutters on the first floor without moving from the sofa.The shutters can even bend down if it is too hot to preserve the freshness.

Which kit you are using?

Who needs to control a velux from a distance?Seriously ?

@pagaupa
Finally a relevant remark!

> Qui a besoin de piloter un velux à distance ?
Qqs month later, I will still say: a stupid question and an equally stupid answer
When a velux is 3 m in height you do how to open and close it? An elderly person who does not have enough strength to open a velux manually or who cannot reach the high opening of a veluxRotating, how does she do it?

@pagaupa
A person with disabilities for example.

@Pagaupaje want to leave the velux of my children open overnight so that the temperature refreshed as much as possible.On the other hand, I don't want them to be woken up at 6 a.m. by the light and the song of the birds.So I have to get up at 5 a.m. to climb to close them ... either I can program them and it is done all by itself.Frankly I prefer the second solution!Or, I'm going on vacation for 3 weeks.Either I leave the velux open, and the temperature in the rooms of my children go up to more than 30 ° C.Either I close them for 3 weeks and the pieces will feel the withdrawal.By being able to program them, I can open up to a certain hour and close from another ... etc.Yes there is a lot of use for that.

My bikes are in manual so not motorized but what would have been interested in me is the automation of the sun's flaps that I put on it to prevent thermal radiation through the windows of the bikes.I only have remote controls.
