The iPhone incompatible with the motorcycle
Apple warns users about the risks of using their mobile on their motorcycle handlebars
Harmful vibrations to apple smartphones
Admittedly, the appearance of smartphones has greatly facilitated our task on many daily subjects since in addition to functioning as a telephone, these mini pocket computers provide a constant connection to the Internet, serve as GPS, have replaced compact digital cameras and can even be used to pay or even be an additional interface with your motorcycle via a dedicated mobile application.
Moreover, on a motorcycle you often need them to use your intercom kit or use it as an on-board camera. But it is for all that concerns navigation that we call on them. Indeed, rather than buying a dedicated GPS, all you have to do is acquire a support for a few euros and install your smartphone on it. At least, as long as it is not a mobile designed by Apple.
While motorcycle manufacturers have started to integrate Apple Car Play directly (Honda, Triumph, Indian or even Harley-Davidson) into some of their motorized two-wheelers, the Apple brand has just published a new section of assistance in which she explains that it is strongly advised not to fix her iPhone on her motorcycle at the risk of damaging it.
Indeed, the American manufacturer explains that exposing the phone to high vibration amplitudes and certain frequencies can damage the performance of the camera, in particular those generated by large motorcycle engines which are then transmitted to the support by the handlebars. .
Prolonged exposure to these vibration frequencies then damages the optical stabilization system and the smartphone's autofocus.
Apple specifies that these vibrations are also problematic on small capacity motors and on two electric wheels, even a scooter and that the installation of an iPhone on these should not be done without using a support that dampens vibrations. .
So don't be surprised if the photos of a phone costing more than 1,000 euros end up becoming blurry...
