Better than ever, the PC is an essential gaming platform. Some large publishers, including Japanese ones, have even made it a major strategic axis. This end of the year 2021 perfectly illustrates this observation and shows a great diversity of genres. First there are the kings of the FPS Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042. On the open world side, there is also something to do with Forza Horizon 5 and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy. Simulation and strategy enthusiasts also have reason to rejoice with King's Bounty II and Age of Empire IV. If you're more into horror, it might be worth taking a look (and even two) at The Medium. As for fans of Japanese role-playing games, they can throw themselves into Tales of Arise without any worries. In short, you are not ready to get bored.

The most anticipated PC game releases
The next releases expected on PC also promise great moments of play. There are even heavyweight titles, starting with Halo Infinite, which goes on sale on December 8, 2021. The star FPS of the Xbox universe will therefore land on PC, alongside the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One versions. This episode must impress to be worthy of this legendary space saga. On January 12, 2022 it will be Monster Hunter Rise's turn to hit PC. Coming to the Nintendo Switch, this episode from Capcom's famous franchise (which has been betting a lot on the PC lately) is preceded by an excellent reputation. Another mega hit that comes to us from the console universe: God of War. Big sensation in 2018 on PS4, the adventures of Kratos and his son will be available on PC on January 14th. After Horizon Zero Dawn, it is therefore a new Sony exclusive that ventures on the computer. An interesting strategy from PlayStation, which thinks of rallying players to its cause by making a PC version several years after the original release of the game in question in the PlayStation ecosystem.
On January 20, 2022, the FPS Rainbow Six: Extraction will enter the dance. This special episode of the Rainbow Six saga adopts cooperative gameplay and offers players to stick together in order to face hordes of aliens. A dozen maps taking place in various areas of the United States acts as a playground. On paper, everything is there to have a good time. To watch, therefore. Strategy aficionados can set their sights on Total War: Warhammer III on February 17. With epic battles and no less epic stakes, this franchise renowned for its turn-based strategy gameplay and real-time tactics seems to have all the aces in hand not to disappoint. Finally, it is on February 25 that Elden Ring will be able to submit to the judgment of gamers who are waiting for this production with a firm footing. Developed jointly by the Japanese studio FromSoftware (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro) and author George RR Martin (Game of Thrones), this open world of abyssal darkness is based on a flamboyant artistic direction. This universe of heroic-fantasy is as hard in its subject as it is demanding in terms of gameplay. Hopefully the end result lives up to expectations.
What are the best PC games, the must-haves?
Along with recent and future releases, we should not forget the hits that have marked the history of the PC in recent years. With the influx of games never stopping, it's entirely possible that you've missed a nugget or two. Great titles that have something to roll against more modern productions and which also have the advantage of displaying a very attractive price. Starting with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda's star action role-playing game. Adapted to a bewildering number of machines since its release in 2011, the PC version remains a safe bet and offers an experience that is still just as captivating. Let's stay in the same genre of game with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD Projekt RED, another famous representative of the action/role-playing genre which was one of the events of the year 2015. It certainly remains one heavyweights in its category with its adult themes, its captivating scenario and its open world with splendid settings (which still amaze you). Don't hesitate to take on the role of the Witcher Geralt of Rivia, you won't regret it! Still in the category of open world games, let's mention two absolute references from us at Rockstar: Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) and Red Dead Redemption II. Released on PC in 2015 and 2019 respectively, these two monuments that need no introduction are a must-do. The PC is also the FPS machine and in this very large family it is not easy to keep only a few members. But some inevitably stand out more than others, such as the Doom reboot released in 2016 (and whose Doom Eternal sequel was marketed in 2020). A flamboyant homage to id Software's original Doom, this high of explosive action can't be skipped if you like the genre at all. How not to mention another FPS which has also made the genre so much progress: Half-Life 2 (from Valve). Its universe, its plot and its many interactions (much more advanced than in the productions of the time) make it a major page in the history of video games that you absolutely have to consult. Still at Valve, it is inconceivable not to mention Portal (2007) and its sequel Portal 2 (2011). This FPS perspective puzzle games ask you to solve various puzzles by creating portals that have the power to teleport you from one surface to another. And then there is the title that transcends generations: Minecraft! An ode to creativity, Minecraft has only one limit: your imagination. Both a construction game and an adventure, this open world is in a way a LEGO 2.0 box as the possibilities are endless.
Which PC to choose for video game fans?
As we have seen, the offer in terms of video games is abundant on PC. But it is still necessary to obtain a machine capable of accommodating all these small people. The first question to ask is whether to go for a laptop or a desktop PC. In both cases, there are beautiful high-performance machines between 1000 and 1500 €. Enough to run the latest big productions without too much trouble. After that, it all depends on your habits and your way of playing. The advantage of a portable machine obviously lies in the great freedom it offers in terms of mobility. So you can enjoy your favorite titles not only at home but also on the go, no matter where you are. Especially since some models combine fairly fine lines with good on-board power. We advise you to take a look at the gaming-oriented laptops offered by the manufacturers Omen, Alienware, Asus or MSI. The only drawback with a laptop comes from its hardware environment, which is not easy to tweak. Changing the graphics card, for example, requires much more manipulation than with the big fat desktop PC. For the latter, changing a card or a hard drive is already much easier. The possibilities of evolution are indeed larger and the comfort of play inevitably wins. You can choose a really gigantic screen size if you feel like it, combined with other accessories of your choice. For a desktop PC equipped for video games, Asus, Acer or Millenium have great configurations to submit to you.
How to optimize your PC for gaming?
To be sure to have the necessary power to make the most of the latest headlines, you must first turn to the processor. So that your future war machine cannot show any signs of weakness on the battlefield, aim for an Intel Core i5, i7 or i9 from Intel. On the AMD side, choose a good Ryzen 5 or 7. Then, you have to make sure that the hard drive is indeed an SSD model. Because with it you benefit from minimal loading times and super fast data transmission. Finally, let's not forget one of the essential factors when you are a lover of the beautiful game: the management of light and everything that revolves around the display. Here, no hesitation, you have to turn to a recent RTX graphics card in order to take advantage of the lighting in ray tracing mode. If you are not building your computer yourself and are aiming for a ready-to-use gaming PC, do not hesitate to look at the data sheet displayed on the site of the seller concerned. Here you will find all the details regarding the processor, graphics card, hard drive and everything else. Obviously, depending on your budget, it is always possible to boost the onboard power and storage capacities as much as possible. As said above, with a range between 1000 and 1500 € you already have enough to do. Of course, if you can go beyond that, your PC will only perform better.
