MAP Space Coatings embarks on greenery coatings

The main thing installed since the beginning of March in its new premises in Mazères, the SME specializing in space coverings gradually abandons organic solvents.
In Mazères, the new industrial tool of MAP Space Coatings detonates. While we have to show white leg before entering the ultra-secure premises, ouessant rams to the black dress seem to make fun of everything.Except grass. If sheep have their feet on the ground, engineers, chemists and employees of Map Space Coatings, have their heads in the stars. In the brand new premises, the whole team of which took possession at the beginning of March, reigns an apparent calm.Far from the potential risks involved when it was necessary to move the Pamiers production tool to the Bonzom activity area.Because for MAP Space Coatings no question of having a break in supplies.Specialized in the manufacture of spatial thermal coatings, the Mazérienne SME is the last link in a long manufacturing chain before the big trip to the space.
Solvent -free coatings
"During the week preceding the move of our computer servers, we only had to deprive ourselves of our thermal unit," explains Olivier Guillaumon, director of Mas Space Coatings."We did not know any hole and even some of our customers that we had taken care to inform, discovered afterwards that we had moved," said the boss.As for the new production tool, it has passed without firing all the certification stages necessary to keep its qualifications and the insurance of its customers such as ESA (European space agency).
In the meantime, Map Space Coatings has embarked on the search for new coverings (still based on the use of silicone) but without adding solvents."This is a choice in which we have been committed for ten years, explains Olivier Guillaumon. We anticipate the arrival of new regulations which would ultimately prohibit the use of this or that product ".But how can we replace solvents whose physico-chemical properties are perfectly mastered by water simply?"This is the whole challenge that our research and development service must take up," adds Olivier Guillaumon.Engineers, chemists are almost there.MAP Space Coatings has innovated, finding new raw materials formulations."Because we want to remain independent of suppliers".And the boss of the SME to add: "We are today at 75 % of our goal".The new coatings have passed an internal test battery, such as their ability to resist ultraviolet, gamma or x radiation radiation. The results obtained should make it possible to cross all the standards requested by the space industry and place MAP Space Coatings, as a precursor in its sector.
new investments in anticipation
B.H.Voir les commentairesEnvie de donner votre avis ?I already have an account
