The Stellantis solar power plant project provides for the installation of nearly 64,000 photovoltaic modules in the shipping car park of the Sochaux plant , which can accommodate up to 10,000 vehicles, over an area of ​​22 hectares which is particularly sunny.

30% of Stellantis Sochaux's electricity consumption

The plant will develop a power of 29 megawatt-peak (MWp), i.e. the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 13,300 inhabitants, or 30 % of that of the Stellantis factory in Sochaux. The photovoltaic panels are installed by the energy company Engie Green, which will bear the investment of 36 million euros and will operate for 30 years. The electricity produced will then be delivered to the Enedis network at 20,000 volts.

Avoiding the emission of 1,000 tonnes of CO2

The project began in September 2020, its full commissioning is scheduled for October 2022. It is one of the largest photovoltaic power plant projects in shade structures underway in France, which will prevent the emission of 1,000 tons of CO2.
